About Dr. Mai

Doctor Julie Mai is an osteopathic physician who continually strives to improve the self-healing ability of each child and adult towards their path of optimal health. She practices comprehensive traditional osteopathy and osteopathy in the cranial field. She is also certified in Homeopathy and Bach Flower Essences and may utilize these as adjunct therapy. Having worked closely with Doctor Viola Frymann for several years, she has experience in treating children of various developmental problems, learning disabilities, as well as the treatment of common problems in newborn babies and other suboptimal health issues of adults and pregnant moms-to-be.

Doctor Mai believes the human body is intelligent in structure and function and was made to handle the rigors that life has to offer. Sometimes the body needs a gentle nudge to initiate the innate self-healing ability that is limited by structural restrictions. In addition, she believes that individuals will achieve optimal self-healing when the connection between mind, body and spirit is strongly unified. She treats children and adults of all ages and pregnant moms-to-be. In addition, Doctor Mai strongly believes in providing beneficial education for the person treated and their family.

Doctor Mai graduated from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine (TUCOM) after earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from University of California at San Diego (UCSD).  After completing her traditional internship, she worked closely with Doctor Viola Frymann and her pediatric patients at the Osteopathic Center for Children & Families for several years.  She also mentored under other well-known and experienced osteopaths such as Philippe Druelle, D.O. from Canada, Eric Dolgin D.O. from Santa Monica,  and many others.  She has earned awards and scholarships for her dedication to osteopathy. Among those early distinctions, she was a medalist of the A. Hollis Wolf Case Presentation and awarded twice the Vicki E. Dyson Scholarship for her work with Osteopathic Physicians.  Dr. Mai also achieved a Certification of Proficiency from the Osteopathic Cranial Academy and a Diploma in Clinical Homeopathy from the CEDH.  In 2016, she was awarded the prestigious Companion of Osteopathy and Honorary Diploma from College d’Etudes Osteopathiques of Montreal by Philippe Druelle, D.O.
